Anglican or Ecumenical Prayer Beads

Praying The Trisagion with The Jesus Prayer: Trisagion is a hymn, especially in the Orthodox Church, with a triple invocation of God as holy.

The Jesus Prayer originated with the monastic Desert Fathers in the Egyptian desert in the fifth century.  It is a wonderful way to pray with any kind of rosary or prayer beads, but works out very well with the Anglican-Ecumenical style of 33 beads.

As you hold the Prayer Beads, starting with the Cross and next, the Invitatory Bead, saying these prayers guides you around the circle of beads. The 4 Cruciform Beads separating each set of the 7 Weeks Beads, is where the Trisagion Prayer is said. For each of the 28 Weeks Beads The Jesus Prayer is prayed as a peaceful, centering mantra.

The Cross - Pray:
In the Name of God, Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit.
Amen.

The Invitatory Bead - Pray:
O God make speed to save me,
O Lord make haste to help me,
Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and will be forever.
Amen.

The Cruciform Beads - Pray:
Holy God, Holy and Mighty,
Holy Immortal One,
Have mercy upon me.

The Weeks Beads - Pray:
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
Have mercy on me, a sinner.
(The Jesus Prayer)
